Neocon Report

After 3 days of epic cocktail parties, informative seminars, and jaw dropping exhibits from brands that we can’t wait to get our hands on, Neocon’s 49th edition has finally come to end. For those who don’t know, Neocon is THE most important event of the year for the commercial design industry where thousands of new, never before seen products are launched. To put it simply, Chicago’s Neocon is like New York’s Fashion Week for furniture.

With close to 500 competing companies separated by 4 floors, I’m sure things got pretty hectic. Here’s what you might have missed:

Companies are literally knocking down walls to encourage collaboration. Not only is teamwork trending but we are starting to realize how essential it is to the success of any company. Getting rid of those tall cubicles and replacing them with short walls and open spaces not only rids the office of that “solitary confinement” feel but also opens the door of opportunity for effective communication.

Earlier this year Pantone announced the 2017 color of the year, Greenery. Which isn’t surprising at all. Everyone is going natural these days from hair to clothes, so why not in your home and office design too? With this color, it’s all about how you accent, which inspires our last, most overlooked trend.

Steelcase was nominated for best Neocon Showroom this year, their theme? Creativity. They wanted to highlight the possibilities of the unknown when it came to colors and redefining space with unusual shapes. Click Here to Take a Peek.

What’s makes these trends so awesome is that we can use either new or pre-owned furniture to redesign, and uplift your work space and help keep you up-to-date. There were other award-winning brands like Herman Miller, Dauphin, Bernhardt, Geiger, and Knoll that we offer right here in our warehouse too. Redesign your work space by incorporating greenery and creativity without breaking the budget. If you weren’t able to make it to Chicago last week don’t worry, we’re just a phone call away.
