Trav Hanna has been an integral  part of our family here at Carolina Office Solutions ever since he joined in 2001. This was just one year after our company was established. His introduction to the industry happened by chance and his willingness to try something new. Trav started out at COS as an installer but worked his way up to being our operations manager. His usual days at the office are busy and filled with daily responsibilities that include managing employees, site visits, interacting with our vendors & clients, troubleshooting and ensuring all projects go smoothly from start to end. Between that and his extensive knowledge of cubicle products and brand information, he is definitely more than a staple here in the office.  

When you’ve worked at the same place for 20 years and have spent time forming relationships not only with your team members but also your clients, it starts to feel like a family and as unbelievable as it may sound, some days it doesn’t even feel like you’re coming to work. Trav expresses how much he appreciates that sort of environment. He believes that’s another reason we’ve grown and maintained such a high level of success in our area. Our team members value each other’s roles and we value the trust we’re able to build with our customers. Also, we can’t forget our unbeatable prices!

When he’s not keeping everything in order at the office, Trav enjoys spending time with his son, Chase. They bond over their love of sports but especially football! Chase is actually on the football team at his school and Trav dedicates a lot of his time to showing his support by going to games or simply watching practice.

Fun Fact! Trav’s favorite college football team is the Alabama Crimson Tide and he’s also a big fan of the Washington Redskins!

Even though he refers to himself as a grump with a dressing of sarcasm, he is often the one to offer comedic relief whenever a staff is stressed. We can probably thank his grandfather, who Trav describes as a strict comedian and someone who taught him to have patience while underscoring the importance of hard work and dedication. He was also inspired by the work ethic of his mother, Jean Scheffsky while he was growing up. Here’s a pretty funny story from Trav’s childhood, although, if you asked him he’d just call it embarrassing. What should have been a quick trip to the shoe store turned into a rescue mission from the fire department (don’t worry, there weren’t any fires). It so happened that  11-year-old Trav convinced his brother it’d be a great idea to stick his hand up the gumball machine to see if they’d get any and well, that didn’t end so well because his hand got stuck. After failing to get it out, they made a call to the fire department and they came to save the day! Very similar to the way we read about them rescuing cats from trees. Trav still turns red in the face when he remembers how his little prank turned out.
